About Us

At the age of 9 I began taking business into my own hands when I decided to sell a hand made rendition of the once popular toy “tech decks” to classmates after school(I sold out the very first day). That same year I began to develop my appreciation for a hard days work thanks to my mom who started her own business,“Knotty Nuff Thyme” hand-making and painting wooden yard signs and home decor. Even though it was her business, my whole family was involved from my Dad cutting out the wooden shapes, to my brother and I helping set up and sell items at farmer’s markets and craft fairs. Knotty Nuff Thyme had a successful run for 10 years until the economy took a dump causing the demand for handmade goods to rapidly decline while the demand for cheap and more affordable products began to rise. As people were losing sight of integrity and quality I was honing in on those qualities by learning to do masonry with my dad who has been in the industry for over 35 years, this hands on experience provided a solid foundation for me to perfect my skill set to design and produce and is what ultimately sparked my passion for carpentry and woodworking.

In June of 2015, after years of fighting illness my mom left this earth and began her next journey in life. They say that for everything there is a season, a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted and through one of the darkest seasons of my life a new leaf was about to turn and guide me back to my roots. April 2016 marks the birth of Intuitive Craftsmanship and the establishment of Knotty Nuff Wood,LLC., right here in Southern California where our state tree is coast redwood, the tallest tree in the world. What started out as a passion for craftsmanship and drive to deliver has turned into me being able to not only choose what I do for a living, but love what I do for a living. Like the roots of a tree, not all things can be seen but they can be felt. From cabinetry, to furniture design, and custom woodworking, every project is crafted from start to finish through clear communication and an intuitive design process.
